The Admissions Office will determine whether or not your application for the University of Amsterdam is acceptable, so first you’ll need to make sure that your complete name and address is on the application form, as well as the phone number or address of your contact person in the Netherlands. Your nationality and residence permit is also necessary to submit for acceptance, and the forms you have detailing any of your previous academic experience, such as records from high school or any other colleges you have attended.

You’ll also need to detail your knowledge of the Dutch and English languages when you’re applying for a degree at the University of Amsterdam. Even if you’re enrolling for the degree program that is taught in English, it is still a good idea to become fluent in Dutch while you are living in Amsterdam, so that you can enhance your degree program by taking additional classes, and can learn your way around the city.

The University of Amsterdam also offers Master’s degrees and PhD programs that you may want to look into if you have already received your Bachelor’s degree from another school. If you have additional questions about the requirements for the degree program that you want, you can send an email to admission@vu.nl, or you can visit vu.nl.

One last thing. Have you thought about where you are going to live while studying at the university? If not and you choose for an amsterdam apartment, then follow the link to discover a vast offer of apartments in amsterdam.
