It’s seems that for many parents, identifying troubled teens can be a hard thing to do. I think at times they find it very difficult to try and understand what is troubling their teenager. It is not always easy trying to understand the human development, especially for that of a teen. The first sign that they might notice about their troubled teen is when they start to withdraw from the family and want to be alone all the time.

Most of the time the parents will start to see some changes that may lead to teens problems somewhere around the seventh or eight grade. I think the first step at this stage is to try and have a talk with your teen and if necessary then his or her teachers and close friends from school. You could usually expect to see the changes that lead to a problematic adolescence, somewhere around the time a teen gets to the eighth grade. The first step would be to try to have a talk with your child, with the teachers at school, or with close peers. If the normal scolding did not seem to do any good, or if you hear his friends make some comments about be worried about your teen, then you need to be concerned. Also, if your get several complaints from your teen’s teachers or he gets into numerous fights at school or makes any type of remarks about suicide, then you definitely need to see a psychiatrist for some assistance.
